What…..is……up! Welcome to episode 45 of the runlikehealth podcast. This week I give you a quick training update. Then I have a great interview/chat that I did with Megan, the veganrunningmom. She’s going to have to change her name to the vegantrimom pretty soon. We talk all kinds of stuff including training with power, new gadgets, nutrition and falling real good on rollers! She actually talked with me while on the rollers which was pretty cool. I have to apologize for the low volume of Megan speaking. I hope you will be able to hear it because she had a lot of great things to say.

2011 Pumpkinman 70.3 Race Report
Posted in Uncategorized on September 26, 2011 by runlikehealthWhat…..is…..up! Well it’s been 2 weeks since my race, and I have finally had time to process and record some thoughts about it. It was a fantastic event that far and away exceeded my expectations. Huge thank you to the Pumpkinman staff, volunteers, and RD for putting on a super top notch event. The race sold out a month in advance, and it is easy to understand why. They really put on a great event. I would also like to thank every single person who has supported me throughout this experience. All of your kind words and support did not go un-noticed. It really meant a lot to me. I would also like to thank my wife Natalie and my children for their constant support. Without that, none of this would be possible. I hope you enjoy this episode.
RLH Epi.41 The Crash! Kelownagurl Interview
Posted in Uncategorized on September 5, 2011 by runlikehealthWhat…..is…..up! Welcome to episode 41 of the Runlikehealth podcast. I have a great show for you this week. I talk about the race that wasn’t meant to be. Hurricane Irene had other plans for the FireMan tri. The event was turned into a swim/run, and I decided not to go. Not because I didn’t want to, but mostly because I had my first significant bike accident about 2 days before the race. When it got to be the night before the race, I was still pretty sore so I backed out. I just didn’t want to aggravate anything with Pumpkinman 70.3 still in front of me. I also had a chance to sit down and chat with Barb, aka Kelownagurl from the Kelownagurl Tri’s podcast. It was awesome to chat with Barb as always.

Posted in Uncategorized on August 15, 2011 by runlikehealthWhat……is…..up! Welcome to episode 40 of the runlikehealth podcast. As always, thanks so much for checking out the show. I’ve got a real treat for you this week. Coach Brett from Zen and the Art of Triathlon makes a second appearance on the show. Awesome interview with a really cool cat. We discuss all kinds of endurance sport goodness, including but not limited to, epic 13 hour swims, suffering, crashing on rollers, smoking a cigarette before a 10K. Good times! When you done listening to episode 40, go check out the Zentri website and podcast. I promise you will not be disappointed.
RLH Epi.39 The Iron Girl From Caratunk
Posted in Uncategorized on August 8, 2011 by runlikehealth
What….is…..up! Welcome to episode 39 of the runlikehealth podcast. Thanks so much for listening to the show. This week, I give a training report right out of the good book. The actual log book that I right down (with a pen) all of my training workouts. It’s uber modern! Training is going well. Starting to hit some big mileage weeks leading up to my races. I was suppose to do an open water swim today, but the weather is less than favorable, so I will have to try to get outside this week. To the trainer I go.
I have an outstanding interview for you in this episode. Mandy, aka caratunkgirl, is a very inspiring person from the northern reaches of Maine. Mandy just finished her first Ironman in Lake Placid a few weeks ago. We talk about her race, her training leading up to the race and wardrobe malfunctions. Mandy had some really great insight to share on IM training. I hope you enjoy hearing the interview as much as I did doing the interview. You can find all of Mandy’s links below. Check out her blog. It is awesome!
